BCCI facilitates Tendulkar`s 200th Test at home

The BCCI on Sunday approved the West Indies visit between the Australia ODI series in October and India's tour of South Africa in December-January. The West Indies will play two Tests and five One Day International matches during their short visit in November 2013. The Indian team's tour of New Zealand for two Tests and five ODIs in January/February 2014 and the Indian team's tour of England for five Tests/five ODIs/one T20 International, from July to September 2014, were also approved by the BCCI.

Rohit Sharma (72, 81b, 8x4, 1x6), who scored his fifth consecutive fifty-plus score in international cricket (79 and 209 against Australia in ODIs; 177 and an unbeaten 111 against the West Indies in Tests and the current innings of 72 at Kochi ODI) and Virat Kohli (86, 84b, 9x4, 2x6) who raced to his 5,000 runs in 114 innings (emulating Vivian Richards' feat of scoring 5000 in the least number of innings) were associated in a second-wicket partnership of 133 which helped India easily overtake the target set by the visitors comfortably with six wickets in hand and 88 balls remaining. Earlier, the India spinners - Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin and Suresh Raina, with eight wickets among them - made full use of the conditions, whittling out West Indies for just 211. Darren Bravo (59, 77b, 4x4, 2x6) was the only West Indian to make a serious contribution to their team total. Dhawal Kulkarni in India ODI squad, Ishant Sharma dropped

Ishant Sharma and Vinay Kumar, who had forgettable series against Australia last month, have been dropped as the selectors picked India's 15-man squad for the one-dayers against West Indies. Mumbai pace bowler Dhawal Kulkarni has earned a maiden national limited-overs call-up, while allrounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was rested for the preceding Test series to allow him the chance to recover from a shoulder injury, is back. Haryana seamer Mohit Sharma, who featured in the second-string squad that played in Zimbabwe in August, has also been included. Kulkarni was last included in the national squad in 2009 for a Test series against New Zealand while Mohit made a dream debut against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo during the fourth ODI in August this year. Apart from these two changes, the selectors have retained the rest of the side that won the seven-match ODI series against Australia 3-2.Yuvraj Singh, who also had a very poor one-day series against Australia, retained his place. The squad announced by BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel has seven batsmen in skipper Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu. The five-member pace attack will be led by Mohammed Shami and will also include Bhuvneshwar Kumar and left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat.
